Bichot Clos du Frantin Vosne Romanee 1er cru Malconsorts 2013

Had at a local restaurant for a pretty good price that made it hard not to try; this is classic Vosne with beautiful silky red fruits, loads of spice, hints of damp earth, floral notes, and a touch of game. The palate has nice richness, is clearly still developing, but is overall quite nice. I don’t know that this reaches the heights I’d hope for from a Malconsorts, but from an average or less vintage and drinking it young, this is quite enjoyable. If I had any in the cellar I’d probably wait at least 2-3 years to drink and should likely peak in 4-10.
